Intense, honest, emotional and bold are words that have been used to describe my art. Influenced by Picasso, Van Gogh and most recently James Wyeth, mine is an art that infuses color with raw emotion. Simple, yet realistic. Focused yet abstract. I create paintings that zoom in on life itself. My unique portraits encapsulate the eyes and expose the soul while inanimate subjects spring to life.
Born Maria Francomacaro in Annandale, Virginia and raised in suburban Baltimore Maria has passionately followed her dreams and talents. She is a commercial airline pilot as well as an accomplished artist. In 1999 she became Maria Danker, when she married Jon Danker, also a pilot, and took his name.
Maria and Jon currently live in Omaha with their two children Macey and Matthew.
